FASD - Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is an umbrella term used to describe various medical diagnoses that describe patterns of physical, cognitive (mental) and behavioral abnormalities that affect a child born to a mother who drinks alcohol during her pregnancy. The condition is lifelong. The FASD Program offers the following services to communities within the Peace River Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA) service area: _________________________________________________________________ INDEPENDENT LIVING SERVICES (ILS) Provides Training and support to adults with a developmental disability to: Eligibility Criteria: _________________________________________________________________ RESIDENTIAL SERVICES Assists individuals requiring 24-hour direct support to live in the community and become more independent in: Individual Program Plans are developed with the individuals/guardians to direct support services to meet their specific needs and goals. _________________________________________________________________ FAMILY SUPPORT Provides support and assistance to families who have children with disabilities. Family Support may assist the family to recruit, train and maintain therapy and respite aides hired through CFSA funding. Eligibility Criteria: _________________________________________________________________ SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS Promote the value of employing people with employment barriers through maximizing each individual's employability in the workplace. Provide assistance in establishing strong community connections with local labor markets, organizations and community members. Individual Program Plans are designed to be flexible based on each individual and their current level of skills. _________________________________________________________________ BRAIN INJURY Coordinates services for people with acquired brain injury and their families, and looks for partnerships within the community that will promote and build community capacity. _________________________________________________________________
